What importance do textiles play in your designs?
Textiles provide the texture that we are looking for in any space; they allow for customization to make a home unique to our clients.
Where do you take risks in your work?
We typically take risks in regards to elements that are the "icing on the cake." Meaning that foundational pieces, such as sofas, generally stay neutral and extremely functional so that our team can focus on adding color, texture, and pattern in pillows, window treatments, rugs, and art. We love pushing the boundaries when it comes to accents that are unexpected.
Why make custom goods instead of purchasing "off-the-rack" from retailers?
We all want to live in a space that inspires us and feels like a true representation of who we are, and custom goods provide that end result more so than any other option. "Off-the-rack" options are great, don't get us wrong, but if you want that 'great' to be transformed into 'show-stopping' then custom is the way to go. We have found furniture for our clients that was the right style or even the right form, but the sizing, color, or pattern didn't fit their aesthetic. Custom allows you to personalize the pieces that you see everyday, and that's pretty amazing!

Visiting High Point, NC for Spring Market was the highlight of the season! Navigating the design world can feel overwhelming to designers just starting out. I remember how shy I was at the beginning of my career because I didn’t have a design “pedigree” and came from humble beginnings. I would have never survived Market Week back then!
I was most excited to see that our pillow offerings are unique from others out there, but also on-trend with the abundant use of bold color and pattern.

Being at Market Week reminded me just how complex of a juggernaut the textile industry world is. The more I peel back layers to uncover better suppliers and better materials, the more I realize how much I don’t know! I did a little digging and here are some of the fascinating industry facts I uncovered. (These are overall textile facts, which includes the apparel industry).
Learning these types of facts helps fortify our position to “buy well, buy once” and to buy local whenever possible. If you’re ready to forgo the fast fashion furnishings world and invest in handmade, quality, custom goods for your home, we are here to help.
